Brooke and Tom: denounce, conciliate, unfeigned, corroborate, intransigent

During an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Brooke Shields said that Tom Cruise, who had denounced her for treating postpartum depression with psychiatric drugs, went to her house to conciliate her. She explained that she accepted his apology because she believed it was unfeigned. A spokesman representing Tom corroborated Brooke's story, but he emphasized that the actor remains intransigent in his belief that antidepressants are dangerous.
